When I found out that the star behind the Crocodile Dundee movies – Paul Hogan – was born there I just had to write this song. The ‘Ridge, near the Queensland border produces some of the most sought-after opal in the world. I wanted to capture the pride and resilience of the people of Lightning Ridge and to salute that “fire” burning inside all of them.
